ISO 9001 focuses on quality management systems and improving company processes to enhance customer satisfaction. ISO 14001 addresses environmental management systems and aims to reduce the environmental impacts of business activities. Both standards set clear requirements for processes, responsibilities, and documentation. Companies can obtain each certificate independently through  certification bodies.

The audits can also be conducted in an integrated manner. If both standards are relevant to your organization, an integrated certification is recommended. This approach can reduce both the audit effort and the overall organizational workload, as the standards share many common requirements.
