Obtaining ISO 14001 certification depends on the organization’s existing environmental management system. For organizations that have identified their environmental aspects and impacts, monitor applicable legal requirements, and manage their processes in a structured manner, the certification process is generally more manageable. In contrast, organizations where an environmental management system has not yet been established or where the scope is not clearly defined may require more effort. Therefore, ISO 14001 certification cannot be generally classified as either “easy” or “difficult.”
