An ISO 14001 certification audit is conducted as a planned, objective, and standard-based process. Initially, the audit scope, the applicable ISO 14001 standard, and the activities to be included are defined. Independent auditors then assess the organization’s environmental aspects, legal compliance, and the effectiveness of the environmental management system, either on-site or remotely. During this stage, interviews are conducted, processes are observed, and documented information is reviewed as objective evidence. Any identified nonconformities and observations are reported in a clear, impartial, and traceable manner. Based on the audit report, a certification decision is made in accordance with accreditation requirements.
